David Steinberg

Professor David Steinberg was born in Brooklyn, New York City. He graduated from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire in 1961 and Harvard Medical School in 1964. David is a hematologist and for 26 years was Chief of Hematology at Lahey Clinic in Burlington Massachusetts. He founded and directs the program in medical ethics at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington Massachusetts. He is also the editor of the Lahey Clinic Journal of Medical Ethics and Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School.

David Steinberg has written and lectured extensively. Amongst his published writings are 45 original articles, 2 reviews, 2 books (Anemia: Facts about “Tired Blood”, Iron and Vitamin Deficiencies, Sickle Cell Disease and Much More (1982); Biomedical Ethics: A Multidisciplinary  Approach to Moral Issues in Medicine and Biology (2007).
